A Career in Clinical Measurement
|
| |
A career in the healthcare sciences is both a
challenging and rewarding experience. Technologists work
in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of disease. They are also involved in research, patient education
and public awareness of related health issues. With the
technology available today, technologists can make a
real difference in the lives of patients. You will need
to have an interest in science and technology and enjoy
working with people in many different circumstances.
To work in the area of Clinical Measurement Science your
career path begins by taking the 4-year Bsc Hons Clinical
Measurement Science degree, offered by the Dublin
Institute of Technology in Kevin Street. This four year
degree course includes three 8 week clinical placements
each in a different discipline. This gives students the
opportunity to see which of the disciplines they enjoy. In fourth year the student is required to choose one
specialist discipline in which they have a further 12
week placement and complete their dissertation in this
discipline.
When qualified you will find opportunities to further
your career as you become involved in research and study
towards higher qualifications.
